With funding from WAMY, MA’AKUM Developmental Foundation launches vocational and craft programs for 40 orphan families in sewing, embroidery, and food production.

Funded by WAMY and in the presence of the Social Affairs and Labor Office and the Technical Education and Vocational Training Office in Taiz Governorate, Ma’akum Developmental Foundation (MA’AKUM) launches vocational and craft training programs for 40 orphan families in sewing and embroidery, as well as support for productive families.

The program targets families who have successfully completed the registration and admission process according to clear and specific criteria.

This initiative aims to build the vocational and technical capacities of orphan families and strengthen their community resilience by equipping the beneficiaries with both theoretical and practical skills in sewing, embroidery, and food processing. The program prepares them to enter the labor market and supports them in establishing their own small businesses, enabling them to rely on themselves and secure sustainable income sources for their families.

The program aligns with Ma’akum Developmental Foundation’s Livelihoods and Food Security sector strategy and the official economic development plans of Taiz Governorate. It contributes to reducing unemployment, alleviating poverty, and supporting recovery from the impacts of conflict and war.
