Mr. Abdulwasea Shaddad, Director of the Education Office in Taiz Governorate, reviewed the selection tests being conducted by MAAKUM Development Foundation to select beneficiaries of the “Future Pioneers Specialized Qualification” Project, which is dedicated to the top-performing secondary school graduates in the governorate.

For the fourth consecutive year, the project aims to enhance the readiness of high-achieving students and prepare them to compete for university scholarships and educational opportunities.

A total of 525 male and female students are competing for 30 fully funded scholarships covering 100% of the costs, and 70 partially funded scholarships covering 50% of the costs.

During his visit, Mr. Abdulwasea Shaddad congratulated the students on their academic excellence and outstanding performance, commending the success achieved by the project in previous years and the quality opportunities it provides for high-achieving students.

He emphasized the importance of English language proficiency as one of the essential skills that enhance students’ opportunities to secure international scholarships and pursue academic disciplines that meet their ambitions and aspirations, both within Yemen and abroad.

For his part, Mr. Yaser Al-oshari, Executive Director of MAAKUM Development Foundation, affirmed the Foundation’s commitment to expanding access to the project for the top secondary school graduates in Taiz Governorate, thereby contributing to enhancing their educational opportunities and enabling them to compete for university scholarships both nationally and internationally.

He explained that the project includes an intensive English language programme designed to prepare students to obtain the TOEFL certificate, in addition to university preparation courses, basic computer skills, and personal development and life skills training.

These components contribute to strengthening students’ academic and practical capacities, while fostering positive, active, and informed individuals who are better prepared to meet the demands of the future.

The “Future Pioneers Specialized Qualification” Project is part of MAAKUM Development Foundation’s efforts to support high-achieving students, invest in education and youth capacity development, and enhance their opportunities to access quality higher education and build a more sustainable future.
