As part of the implementation of the Integrated Cash Assistance, Shelter, and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Project, MA’AKUM Development Foundation has signed a service agreement with Yemen Bahrain Shamil Bank to facilitate the delivery of Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) to project beneficiaries in Mawza District, Taiz Governorate. The project is funded by the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF).

The agreement follows the successful completion of a transparent and competitive procurement process, through which Yemen Bahrain Shamil Bank was awarded the contract after submitting the most responsive bid in line with the project’s technical specifications, administrative requirements, and established evaluation criteria.

Through this partnership, MA’AKUM aims to ensure the safe, timely, and accountable delivery of cash assistance to internally displaced persons (IDPs) and other vulnerable households residing in remote communities across Mawza District.

The agreement will contribute to improving the efficiency of cash transfer operations while ensuring beneficiaries receive assistance with dignity and in accordance with humanitarian principles.
MA’AKUM Development Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to the principles of transparency, accountability, and value for money in the implementation of humanitarian programmes.

The Foundation also emphasized that selecting a qualified financial service provider is a key step toward ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient cash delivery mechanisms that fully comply with the operational standards and guidelines of the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF).

The agreement marks an important milestone in the implementation of the integrated humanitarian project, which seeks to address the urgent needs of vulnerable communities through coordinated interventions in cash assistance, shelter, and WASH. By combining these complementary sectors, the project aims to improve living conditions, alleviate humanitarian suffering, and strengthen the resilience of conflict-affected households in Mawza District.
